There are three ways to learn about new projects
The first is to scan the Dashboard and look for projects you qualify for. The second and more efficient method is to sign up for email or SMS alerts.
With email/SMS alerts, we send messages to a random subset of eligible people when a new project is launched. This means email/SMS alerts will not notify you of every project you qualify for, but it will let you know of some projects you could participate in.
If you are participating in a project with multiple waves of data collection (called a 'longitudinal study'), you may receive email alerts from the research team each time a new wave is made available.
Note: Enabling email/SMS notifications does not mean you will receive an alert for every project that becomes available to you. Our system prioritizes notifications to participants based on a set of rules and then gradually opens the study to participants who qualify but may not have been notified. This process gives people who are notified a fair chance of taking the project, but it also means some projects may appear on your dashboard even if you did not receive a notification.
Lastly, you may also enable browser notifications. Browser notifications provide you with pop ups on your laptop/desktop when a new project becomes available to you, or when you receive a message in Connect, as long as you have a tab open with Connect currently signed in.
The below is an example of what these browser notifications look like:
To enable browser notifications, toggle on the browser notification button on your dashboard.
